Hi, I'm Lila (she/her), a second-year Hispoler and your JCR President for 2026! I'm really looking forward to working with the JCR committee and student body this year. As President, my main role is chairing the JCR committee and ensuring a good line of communication between college and students. I also work with the Selwyn MCR and other college JCRs, representing Selwyn within the wider university. My focuses this year are continuing the JCR's good relationship with college in order to be able to effectively campaign to keep costs for students low, alongside ensuring that Selwyn remains a friendly and open community for everyone! Hi! I’m Jack (he/him) and I am a second-year law student. I am very excited to be your JCR Vice President this year! My role is a diverse and busy one, with a large part of my time representing Selwyn’s interests at The Cambridge Students’ Union. I am committed to ensuring that Selwyn remains as friendly and welcoming as we know it to be. I want to work with the rest of the JCR to ensure that all students are represented and supported throughout the year. Most importantly, I hope that I can help to introduce changes and improvements that allow everyone to make the most out of their studies and time in Cambridge!

Hi, I'm Sophia (she/her) and I'm your Communications Officer this year! I'm a second year historian, and my role is to ensure that there is communication between the college and the JCR, and between the JCR committee and the rest of the student body. I send out Selwinfo weekly with all of the fun events going on both in college and within the University and wider Cambridge community, as well as taking meeting minutes and managing the JCR Instagram account (@selwyn_jcr!) Hi, I’m Daisy (she/her), a first-year history student and this year’s Accommodation and Services officer. My role will mainly involve overseeing the accommodation ballot as well as working closely with the college to ensure sufficient communication between student and maintenance, so that all accommodation issues are promptly resolved. I hope to work with other members of the JCR, to ensure that the student voice is well represented in decisions around accommodation and services. Hi everyone! I'm Shannon (she/her), a first year HSPS-er, and I am looking forward to being your Green Officer this year! I am hoping to continue the work of previous officers to aim for greater sustainability at Selwyn. In my role, I will continue to hold the college accountable, and raise greater awareness around climate and animal welfare issues. In particular, I hope to continue the Swap and Share and environmental events, such as sustainable formals, as well as encourage reduced meat consumption at hall, with the diversification of vegetarian and vegan options. Hi! I’m Liam, a first year hispoler from Wakefield. My job as Access Officer is to promote Selwyn for all potential applicants regardless of their social and economic background. I will work with college and the JCR to make both the application process and transition to life at Cambridge as smooth as possible, encouraging those from widening participation backgrounds to feel confident in applying. Hi! I’m Alice (she/her), a first-year historian and your Gender Equality Officer this year. My role involves ensuring that Selwyn remains a supportive and welcoming environment for people of all gender identities and expressions, and I aim to work closely with other JCR officers, and other colleges, to further support student welfare and organise fun and inclusive events. I’m also responsible for the provision of menstrual products in college bathrooms, and the administration of the Menstrual Hygiene Fund, so please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions about these, or about anything else related to my role!
